Pick a student in one spin
Cold calling works best when nobody can predict who's next. Paste your class list once, then spin whenever you want to check understanding, ask for an answer or choose a volunteer for the board. Because the wheel is visible to everyone, students can see the pick wasn't aimed at them, and the person who answers is decided in seconds rather than after an awkward pause.
Avoid repeats with Elimination
This picker starts in Elimination mode. Once a student's name comes up, they're taken off the wheel, so the next spin always lands on someone who hasn't been asked yet. Picked a student who's already answered, or removed someone by mistake? Undo brings them straight back. When only one student is left, press Reset Wheel or paste the list again to restore everyone for the next activity.
When to use the Classroom Wheel instead
This page is designed for quick, one-off picks in the middle of a lesson. If you want every student to get a turn across a whole lesson or week, in rounds, the classroom wheel uses Fair Rotation and tracks rounds for you. And when you need groups rather than one person, the random team generator splits the whole class at once.
Remove absent students before class
Before you start, delete anyone who's away today so the wheel never lands on an empty seat. Each name has a remove button, and the list remembers your edits on this device, so tomorrow you only need to add them back.

How is this different from the Classroom Wheel?
The Random Student Picker removes each picked student until you reset, which suits quick cold calling. The Classroom Wheel uses Fair Rotation to give the whole class a turn in rounds.
Are student names stored by Wheel Answer?
No. Names stay in your browser on this device. They're only included in a link if you choose to create a share link.
