Spin a conversation starter
The hardest part of an icebreaker is choosing the question. Spin the wheel and a prompt is picked for you, shown large enough for the whole group to read. Go around the room, take answers from volunteers, or let the person who answered spin for the next question.
Icebreakers for classrooms
Use it on the first day of term, at the start of a new unit or as a quick morning meeting. Answers are short and easy, so even quieter students can join in. For pairing students to interview each other, use the random partner generator first, then spin a question for every pair. If the class needs to move rather than talk, try the brain break wheel.
Meeting and team check-ins
Open a team meeting, a workshop or a video call with one quick round. A light prompt helps people warm up before the agenda, and a random question avoids the facilitator always reaching for the same favourite.
Youth groups and social groups
Clubs, youth groups, volunteer teams and new friend groups can use the wheel to get conversation going without anyone feeling put on the spot. Present mode works well on a TV or projector in a meeting room or hall.
Use your own questions
The sample prompts are only a starting point. Delete any you don't like, type your own, or paste a whole list of questions from a document — each line becomes a slice on the wheel. You can build a wheel of discussion prompts for a book club, reflection questions for the end of a session or getting-to-know-you questions for a new team. Your wheel is saved in this browser for next time.
Avoid repeats with Elimination
This wheel opens in Elimination mode, so each question is removed after it's picked and the group works through new prompts instead of hearing the same one twice. Want a question back? Undo restores it. Prefer that any question can come up on every spin? Switch to Random.
Keep prompts comfortable for everyone
Good icebreakers are easy to answer and easy to pass on. The samples avoid personal, sensitive or awkward topics, and it's worth doing the same with your own questions — and letting people pass if they'd rather not answer. For choosing between options rather than asking questions, the decision wheel is a better fit, and the classroom wheel helps pick who answers next.
Questions
Can I add my own questions?
Yes. Replace the sample prompts by typing your own, or paste a list of questions and each line becomes a slice on the wheel.
